Sonor mid-1960's Teardrop 4-piece all beech wood shell pack - made in "West Germany"

$2,650.00
Only 1 left in stock

Very rare SONOR 1960's all beech wood 4 piece shell pack - handmade in "West Germany" consisting of double 13x8 rack toms, 16x14 floor tom, 20x14 bass drum in blue wrap. -Please note that the 14x4.5 snare drum has SOLD and is no longer available.

Say hello to your new beloved kit for the studio or flaunting around town on your favorite gigs. These German-made drums have stood the test of time with many years of music creation ahead of them.

The thin 3 ply beech wood shells with single ply re-enforcement rings are warm and punchy. The reinforcement rings combined with the thin shells create a wide bearing edge, offering muffling of overtones, offering a full, controlled tone.

CONDITION: All of the shells are in clean, healthy condition. Incredible how well they have held up over the years. Only a few cosmetic scuffs to note along with one simple repair done to the floor tom re-ring (see below).

13x8 rack toms: each are in excellent condition. Normal wear around the tom mount receivers.

16x14 floor tom: this drum came to us with a slight separation of the bottom re-enforcement ring due to coming unglued (not cracks or damage). We expertly re-glued the re-ring making it stronger than the original build. It is also worth noting that there is a slight horizontal crack in the wrap in the middle of the drum due to separation of the wrap grain, but it is structurally sound (see last picture in listing). This is very hard to see, so we wanted to point it out.

20x14 bass drum: excellent shape. Normal wear on the batter side hoop from bass drum pedal toe clamp, and underside of front hoop from touching the ground over the years.

(SOLD) 14x4.5 snare drum: Please note that the snare drum has SOLD and is no longer available.

🤑 PAYMENT OPTIONS: debit/credit, financing, multiple after-pay options, PayPal, and bank transfers.
